Please Pass the Grass!
Okay, I can already hear you thinking “another green food, now what?”… please bare with me as I share an experience very dear to this doctor’s heart. In 1998, I developed a life-threatening condition called leaky gut syndrome (auto intoxication) as a result of intestinal damage from prescription medications after a serious accident – my immune system literally “shut down.” I began reacting with anaphylactic shock to everything in my environment and to nearly all foods and supplements, just like the clients around the world I consult with today. As if that wasn’t enough, I also developed fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and chronic insomnia. Click to continue reading….
As a health professional specializing in assisting others to repair their immune systems, I immediately went to work on the biggest challenge of my career: repairing my health and my life. My experience, education, and research confirmed that my recovery would require the following:
- A substance capable of destroying germs and microbes
- An antioxidant to rebuild and preserve cell integrity
- Oxygenation of cells to facilitate repair
- A natural immune booster and blood cleanser
- A detoxifier and support mechanism for the liver
- Protection from carcinogens
- A substance high in amino acids and enzymes
- Exogenous enzymes (powerful enzymes) to help with detoxification
- Bioflavonoid compounds to help cleanse blood and tissues
- A natural digestive stimulant
- Magnesium to draw excess fat from the liver while avoiding muscle cramps
- Potassium to assist muscles and prevent spasms
- A substance to destroy anaerobic bacteria
- A food source of oxygen to repair cell damage
- Lutein, to repair my deteriorating eye sight
Experience and research taught me that the secret to rebuilding my immune system was hidden in tiny blades of grass containing high chlorophyll content that helps the blood detoxify and rebuild. Organic kosher wheatgrass juice not only fulfilled the above listed requirements for recovery, in the process it gave me the stamina to stick to the “blueprint” I insist on for clients who are rebuilding their health. The blueprint consists of the “3-D” approach: determination, discipline and detoxification.
In my case, progress was monitored by a test called live blood cell microscopy. Within 90 days after daily consumption of wheatgrass juice, my once “clumped” red blood cells were now happily “flowing” under the microscope – an accomplishment few whole foods or supplements can accomplish as readily.
Freeze-dried organic kosher wheatgrass juice concentrate also arrests the growth and development of unfriendly bacteria, including Candida (yeast), common in most immune system disorders, especially leaky gut syndrome.
Much to my amazement, my energy and stamina improved, as did my digestion and elimination. I attributed my “solar energy” to the benefits of wheatgrass juice and its ability to be both a tonic and energy booster. These amazing qualities are due to its high concentration of natural vitamins, minerals, trace elements and enzymes.
Just The Grass Please!
Juicing every day is not something I enjoyed, although I did it until a client introduced me to a freeze-dried wheatgrass juice. Finally, a company found a need and filled it! It’s grown in climate-controlled green houses under the “perfect” conditions; organic soil enriched with minerals, spring water and plenty of natural sunshine. It’s grown and harvested under strict 100 percent certified organic and kosher guidelines. And best of all, nothing is added – no fillers, additives, sweeteners or binders. It’s freeze-dried to maintain the highest integrity and then conveniently packaged in powder (which dissolves instantly in water for oral or topical use).
Doesn’t All Wheat Contain Gluten?
Yes, if it refers to the actual wheat grain. However, when the young leaves of the wheat plant are harvested and juiced, that juice does not contain wheat or gluten – it becomes a whole green food with all the health-enhancing benefits intact.
As a recovered victim of a serious digestive disorder, I’m frequently asked why I use and recommend wheatgrass juice, even for those individuals like myself who are gluten-sensitive or are diagnosed with celiac disease – now you know why.
Grass for Healthy Babies and Expectant Mothers
An additional quality of this green nectar is that it also contains folic acid and iron, which are essential to pregnant women. The juice not only supports mother’s health, but is also transferred to the fetus. One helpful benefit is the ability to counteract yeast that may be transferred through the birth canal, and later through breast-feeding. Wheatgrass also boosts the immune system to support healthy red blood cells and give the baby a strong, healthy foundation on which to build health.
For mothers, babies and everyone who values their health and vitality, organic kosher wheatgrass juice is like a natural health insurance policy.
The Way I See It…
I’m far too busy to grow my own flats of wheatgrass juice then have to juice it and clean up. Additionally, since the indoor climate is not controlled, mold (some visible, some not) forms on the soil and causes allergic responses in many people. I use this delicate powder when I travel for that extra boost of energy and as a way to get my 1-1/2 pounds of veggies daily, naturally.
