New research from the Yale School of Public Health warns us that more than 70 species of North American birds can be infected by the black-legged tick – the primary carrier of Lyme disease.
Lyme disease has exploded in the past two decades in the United States – it is now being reported in areas of the country never before thought to be within the range of ticks that carry the Lyme disease.
Yes, our global ecology is ever-changing but the newly discovered threat of ticks in regions previously believed “safe” is very concerning to both the general public and health professionals.
Know Your Options
If you experience any of the following listed symptoms, see your health professional immediately. That said, remember that if Lyme disease has not previously been prevalent in your area, your physician may not recognize the symptoms and, therefore, deliver the wrong diagnosis.
I assist many victims of Lyme disease annually – mostly by the use of specific homeopathic remedies to assist the body in fighting the bacterial disease as well as to strengthen their immune system to allow for a quicker recovery. A wrong diagnosis can cost you valuable time in intercepting the bacteria invasion before it accelerates.
Equally important is that when antibiotics are prescribed you immediately follow with a course of 90 days of a professional probiotic; my preference is one containing at least 60 billion microorganisms in one capsule. The tick bite itself loaded your immune system “gun”, when you add the antibiotic you pull the “trigger” that will further sabotage your immune defences – thrusting you into a vicious cycle of symptoms-care which becomes disease-management, NOT healthcare.
– A red circle or “bulls eye” rings around a tick bite – many patients may not even experience this specific symptom or manifestation
– A chronic headache in varying degrees
– Extreme fatigue like you experience when you have a case of influenza
– Swollen lymph nodes (under chin, armpits, behind knees, etc.)
– Muscle and joint stiffness (sometimes made better by movement, but not always)
– Soft and connective tissue pain much the same as experienced in fibromyalgia
– Sudden vision disturbances
I’ve seen the consequences of a misdiagnosis and the misery and diminished quality of life for the victim as they are prescribed drug after drug for symptom care – if you become a victim seek assistance from a health professional that has experience in successfully assisting victims to wellness.
Often times, especially during the flu season, the misdiagnosis is influenza. Examine your body carefully and have someone check your back and areas you cannot examine to see if in deed there is any sign of a tic bite before succumbing to drug therapy – DO NOT take this disease lightly, it can have long-term consequences such as disorders affecting your heart and nervous system, depression, chronic pain, meningitis, and even death.
What species, besides large wild animals, carry the tic?
– Small animals that roam in the wilderness where wildlife roam
It’s important that you avoid the use of bird feeders during Lyme season prime time, which is late spring and early summer. Feeders are not really necessary this time of year as there is plenty of food available naturally. Simply being in close proximity to a feeder, or allowing children to play close to one, could compromise them if birds have left ticks behind in the grass and shrubs.
There are two complexes that I have used successfully simultaneously in my practice – a homeopathic neutralization remedy and a rainforest botanical. I hesitate to make specific recommendations without consulting with you because each individual, and their symptoms, are so unique to this disorder. If you are, or become, a victim of this life-changing disorder, there are natural solutions. Complete the new client forms on my website at www.gloriagilbere.com (which are submitted online). As soon as the Institute receives the completed forms and a recent photo, we will call you to arrange for a telephone consultation and I will call you at my expense in 16 countries.
