Epidemic Prescription Drug Abuse and Safe Options, Naturally…Part 3 of 3 – Your Health Detective

This is the final of three articles regarding the most abused prescription drugs and safe options.

Rx Methylphenidate

Methylphenidate is a stimulant found in the ADHD drugs Ritalin and Concerta. Its nicknames include “MPH,” R-ball,” “Skippy,” “The smart drug,” and “Vitamin R.” NIDA notes that taking high doses of a stimulant may result in dangerously high body temperature, an irregular heartbeat, and the potential for cardiovascular failure or lethal seizures…Click to continue reading…

Escaloft – a mood-modulating blend of herbs and botanicals to support healthy production of mood-regulating neurotransmitters. It includes over ten ingredients known to be effective in those with low spirits, depression or unstable mental focus.

Focus Fizz – adaptogenic support formula for attention and focus and compromised learning ability through beneficial ingredients for neurotransmitter support and enhanced stress tolerance. Focus Fizz is a special blend of potent antioxidants and nutrients to calm the overactive nervous system, protect neural cells from oxidative damage, and promote optimal cognitive functioning.

Rx Dextromethorphan (DXM)

Dextromethorphan (DXM) is the active ingredient in non-prescription cough and cold medicines. Those products are safe when taken as recommended, but very large doses can produce euphoria and impaired judgment – as well as nausea and vomiting, loss of coordination, increased heart rate and blood pressure, and brain damage due to a combination of DXM and decongestants often found in the medication. The street names for this drug include, “Orange Crush,” “Triple Cs,” “Dex,” and “Robo.”

Rx Pseudoephedrine

Pseudoephedrine is commonly found in nonprescription cold medicines. It’s sought as an ingredient for making the illegal drug methamphetamine (“meth”). That’s why there are laws limiting the amount of pseudoephedrine-containing drug products that can be purchased at a time.

Silver Hydrosol – this product is my first-line of defense against infection and illnesses. It is made like a homeopathic and has been used for centuries to kill bacteria, viruses and fungi. It comes in a nasal spray, dropper bottle and larger refill bottles. I spray each nostril 5-7 times each hour of a flight and have avoided ever getting sick even after half a million miles of flying and trips to developing countries. At the first sign of illness spray your nose and also take 1-2 teaspoons orally – swish and swallow – several times a day. I consider this “nature’s defense” and you should too!

PhytoImmune – a tonic blend of nutrients and botanicals to reduce susceptibility to infection. With it’s inclusion of Echinacea, Astragalus, Goldenseal and L-lysine, it supports upper respiratory health and shortens duration of sickness.

Cold & Flu Remedy – a homeopathic blend designed to relieve headaches, fever, chills, respiratory symptoms, exhaustion, and body aches.

The above nutraceuticals are available from a health care professional…they’re safe, effective and do not carry the side-effects of drugs, naturally.

The Way I See It…Yes, cold and flu season is upon us. If you have prescription or over-the-counter medications in the house, be sure to keep them away from anyone who might have easy access for abuse. Furthermore, since there are so many nutraceuticals you can use instead of toxic drugs, why would you choose to do anything else? I hope this series of reports has given you, my readers, the natural solutions you were seeking. Thank you for your continued support and readership.
